Vanguard Products can work with 2D Wireframe Files DXF (*.dxf)
Oribi Manufacuturing IGES (*.igs, *.iges) files and 2D File with dimensions.
Molded Dimensions recommends the following file types be sent to improve the efficiency of file transfer and translation: (Please ZIP all files for faster transfer. ) They use Solidworks. Native Solidworks files are great if available. If not, IGES files work well too. We also like a 2d print if available.
SolidWorks Files
If you do not have the files in a SolidWorks format, use one of the alternate methods.
3D Solid Based Files
Step AP203/214 (*.step, *.stp) can be used to preserve the solid based structure of the part. This format is quite new and is still being developed. Because of this, also save the file in IGES format (*.igs, *.iges) including wireframe and surface data.
3D Wireframe Files
IGES (*.igs, *.iges) save wireframe and surface files in a "SAT" format.
2D Wireframe Files
DXF (*.dxf) or DWG (*.dwg) Use these formats only to save the print drawings. Part data saved in these formats is usually not used for mold construction. Most IGES files will not include tolerance and material information. Please include a DXF file along with all IGES files. If you send paper prints, please send 3 copies.

Each CAD file should be named with the appropriate part number and revision. For example, PN 9182 rev B would have a file name of "9182-B.igs". Please do not send multiple copies with the same name to prevent files from overwriting themselves. Also do not send files with non-descriptive file names such as "change2.igs".
