Plastic

Our Plastics and Composites solutions include custom made parts and assemblies.

Selecting the right process and combining materials and compounding for optimum performance is the key to efficiently engineered plastic products.

Within the Thermoplastics our solutions include injection molded, extruded, forged and punched or water-jet cut parts. We can produce Thermoset plastics as molded, Resin Transfer Molding (RTM), Bulk Molding Compound (BMC) or Sheet Molding Compound (SMC) or as hand-layup or Vacuum bagged composite parts. Our parts can be tinier than your fingernail or larger than a locomotive front cowling.

Plastic Resins are routinely modified with a variety of colorants, fillers, and lubricants and of course fiber reinforcement to broaden their industrial applications.

Some of the reinforcement fibers available are Glass and Carbon fiber but others such as Kevlar are also available. For large parts such as vehicle cab skins, Core layers such as balsa, foam and honeycomb cores can also be used. They can reduce weight and control stiffness and sound.

Ask us for help, we are ready to advise you on the optimally compounded material for your part or assembly.

Secondary Operations expand the options for efficient design.
