Properies: Polyethylene resins are some of the most inexpensive resins. They come in low density, linear, high density and ultra-high molecular weight (UHMW).
Excellent chemical resistance and some impact resistance are strength but they have low tensile strength and are attacked sunlight.
Most of the grades except the UHMW can be processed on regular injection molding and extruding equipment. The UHMW must be processed on special casting or compression molding equipment. It provides high performance but also at a high price.
