Definition: Thermoset

A cross-linked material. Any material that undergoes a permanent chemical change when overheated. It is more likely to char than melt. Thermoset materials are different from thermoplastics which can turn from solid to liquid without chemical change. Thermoset materials tend to be more stabile within its designed heat range.
